About Our Organization
The South Jersey Jazz Basketball club founded in January of 2000 is a
Division of the Basketball Development group, a non-profit 501 C3 New Jersey Corporation that is dedicated exclusively to the development of amateur student athletes.

The club operates form March through November and is based out of
South Jersey, Camden County area. The club is affiliated with the Middle Atlantic Association of The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and the NJ Chapter of the Youth Basketball of America (YBOA).

This year the club will consist of 8 age divisions of boys, 10U through 17U or grades 4th through 11th, and 4 divisions of girls 10U, 11-12U, 13-14U, and 16U or Grades 4th through 10th.

We will begin the 2008 season in March with travel team tryouts slated the 1st and 2nd week of the month. Each age division will have 2 tryout nights, approximately 1 ½ hours each. Our travel teams play in highly competitive tournaments and carry only 8-11 players. Playing time is not guaranteed to any player and attendance at practice is mandatory. If you should be fortunate enough to make a travel team, a serious commitment is expected. We highly recommend that you do not play another sport.

• Build positive racial experiences for children as well as adults
• Help children deal with anger management and peer pressure
• Provide a safe and drug free environment for youths to showcase and hone their athletic skills

Club Accomplishments

The organization is proud of our successful staff which has experience playing or coaching in the NBA and International professional leagues, college Division I, II, and III, High School, AAU, Recreation Leagues, Summer Camps, and Development Clinics. In 8 years of competition, The South Jersey Jazz has produced 51 regional tournament championships, 41 - 2nd place tournament finishes, 36 - 3rd place tournament finishes, 1 American Youth Basketball East Coast championship, 17 National Tournament qualifying teams and 8 State of New Jersey Championship Teams.
