Coach Thompson played basketball at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, VA where he was All-City averaging 22 ppg earning a basketball scholarship to attend Longwood College.  He has coached in Voorhees Athletic Association and is looking forward to coaching at the AAU level with the SJ Jazz Basketball Club.  Coach Thompson brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and playing experience to the Jazz. He is a very good teacher of the game and believes in discipline and fundamental skills.  His High School coach, Leo Anthony, from Virginia Beach was coached in High School by the legendary Lefty Driesell from the University of Maryland.  Coach Thompson graduated from Norfolk State University with a degree in Social Work and he earned a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Maryland.

Coach Thompson is currently employed as a Certified School Social Worker with the State of New Jersey.
