The South Jersey Jazz U-16 team coached by Tim Legler and Wally Kennedy kicked off their season with a resounding win in the Hoop Group Fall Jam Fest.
The Jazz went 3-0 in pool play and took on the North Carolina Juice All Stars in the semifinals.
In the 60-30 win, the Jazz had several standout performances. Myles Cale (Appoquinimink HS) had 16pts and 9 rbs, Ryan Legler (Wildwood Catholic HS) added 11 pts, and Walter Harvey (St Augustine Prep) chipped in 7 pts and 8 rbs.
In the championship game the Jazz took on the NC Runnin' Rebels and came away with the championship in a 76-60 win.
In the title game, Myles Cale led the way with 22pts and 9 rbs. Paul Brown (Salesianum HS class of 2018) added 15 pts and 6 rbs. Ryan Legler and Austin Kennedy (St Augustine Prep) chipped in 9 pts each, and Walter Harvey and Jaden Bell (Cherokee HS) added 7 pts each in the well balanced Jazz attack.

The South Jersey Jazz 10th grade team captured their 3rd consecutive tournament championship by winning the JKMBA 2014 Jam fest, which was held at Cherokee High school on June 14th and 15th. The jazz were a last minute entry into the tournament and ended up playing without several players and still managed to will all 3 Games in route to the championship.
The South Jersey Jazz 10th grade team won the Tri-State Regional Championship on June 7th and 8th at Riverwinds in West Deptford. The victory means back to back Championships after their win in the King of Prussia tournament last week.
Coach Ed Coryell says that even though the players haven't been playing together for very long they play like the a seasoned team.

It took 30 minutes of team basketball and a NBA 3 pointer with no time left on the clock by Brandon Ruby to beat the South Jersey Select 64 to 63 and capture the 10th grade Rock the Rim Championship.
The Team is playing inspired basketball and looking forward to their next event.
The South Jersey Jazz 15u Coached by Steven Horsley Sr., played in the "Philly Live" NCAA Certified College Showcase tournament on the weekend of April 25-27th. In there first tournament of the season they had a very good run going 3-1 against some very tough competition.
In the first game they defeated the PA Renegades Black 51-48. The Jazz team came out playing tough on both sides of the ball.
After playing late into the evening on Friday night, had to wake up for an early Saturday Morning game two, came out a little sluggish and fell behind early against Cross Hoover Hoops from VA. The Boys fought themselves back into the game but a little too late losing 38-30.
The third game they bounced back and defeated a tough Maryland Rebels team 61-45. The boys came out from the start playing tough gritty Defense and controlled the boards.
In the last game they defeated Team Hines in a good all around Game.
Their next tournament will be playing in May Madness Tournament at Rowan University, May 3-4th.
The Jazz 13u 7th grade continued their winning play in Waldorf, Md! The Jazz once again went 4-0 on their way to their second Tournament Championship. The competition was fierce against some of Maryland and Virginia's more talented teams and the environment was hostile. The boys played with passion, kept their poise, and reached their purpose with another TEAM effort starting with relentless defensive pressure and a never say die attitude!
The South Jersey Jazz U-15 coached by Tim Legler had an outstanding showing in the Under Armour Pitt Jam Fest in Pittsburgh, PA over the weekend of April 25th-27th.
The team won their first 3 games to advance to the Elite 8, before beinge liminated by the eventual champion Miami City Ballers.
In the first game, the U-15s defeated Association Canada 63-49 as Myles Cale led the way with 19 pts and 8 rbs. Walt Harvey chipped in 11pts and 8 rbs,and Eric Dicrescenzo had a team record 18 rebounds.
Next up was The City (NYC) whom the Jazz took down 61-50. Myles Cale had 23 pts and 12 rbs, Walt Harvey added 21 pts and 12 rbs, and Eric Dicrescenzo had a double/double with 10 pts and 10 rbs.
The Jazz took care of Team Melo in the Sweet 16 by a score of 58-49. Myles Cale exploded for 34 pts and 11 rbs, and Jaden Bell added 9 rbs.
The run came to an end versus Miami City Ballers in the Elite 8 by a score of 70-56. The Ballers featured a front line of 6'9", 6'9", 6'7" and went on to win the whole tournament.
The Jazz U-15s will be playing next in the May Madness tournament at Rowan University May 3-4th.
The South Jersey Jazz 13u 7th grade Travel Team opened up their 2014 AAU season with 4 wins and no loses to capture the championship at the Hammonton Classic. The Jazz used a total team effort on offense and played relentless pressure defense to out score their competition 318 to 107. The team is coached by Steve Horsley Jr, Tony Quigley and Kyle Cantz.
The South Jersey Jazz U-15 opened up their season impressively by winningthe Hoop Group Tournament of Champions in Neptune, NJ. Tim Legler's teamwent 4-0 over the weekend.
The U-15s beat Primetime 64-61 in the semifinals. Justyn Mutts led the way with 19 pts, 7 rbs, and 6 blocks. Myles Cale added 18 pts, Darrien Mackay 9 pts and Eric Dicrescenzo 8 rebounds in the victory.
In the Finals, the Jazz knocked off a tough JSL team from North Jersey 58-48, coming back from an 8 point halftime deficit. Myles Cale scored 16 pts, Justyn Mutts added 15 pts, 10 rbs, 6 blocks, and Darrien Mackay chipped in 9 pts.
The U-15s next play in the 48 team Philly Jam Fest April 11-13th in Spooky Nook, PA.
